Consultation and Planning
Your doctor will evaluate your oral health, take X-rays or 3D scans, and discuss your goals. This is the first step in creating a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Placing the
Implants
Next, your doctor will place the dental implants into your jaw bone. These implants act as sturdy anchors for your new teeth and will integrate with the bone over the next 3–6 months.

Healing and Temporary Teeth
As your implants heal and fuse with the jaw bone, you'll be fitted with a temporary set of teeth. This allows you to eat and smile naturally during the healing process..

Final Fitting and Follow-up Care

Meet the doctors
Dr. Kent Spurling
A native of Arizona, Dr. Spurling received his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Arizona State University. Gaining an academic and health professions scholarship with the U.S. Air Force he completed his dental doctorate at the University of Kentucky in 2003. During a mission to the Dominican Republic in 2001 he met his future wife, Viviana, who served by his side in the mission. Dr. Spurling gained further education with a general practice residency with the Air Force and served a supportive role during Operation Enduring Freedom as lead oral surgeon at Dyess Air Force Base.
After separating from active duty, he continued to serve in the Air Force Reserve. Through over twenty years of general practice, Dr. Spurling has gained advanced education in dental implantology, full-mouth reconstruction and orthodontics that give him a unique perspective and bring specialty skills to his general practice patients.
Outside of the office, he is a proud husband and father of three children. The family enjoys travel and supporting the varied interests of the children.

Dr. Aishwarya Subramanian—known by her patients as Dr. Subra—is a University of Florida graduate who brings passion, precision, and warmth to every visit. Her approach is centered around helping people feel their best, whether that means easing dental anxiety, restoring function, or crafting a smile they love to see in the mirror.
Dr. Subra has a strong background in both general dentistry and public health. She’s traveled to the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Jamaica to provide dental care to underserved communities, and she continues this mission locally by serving patients in downtown Phoenix.
At Smile Standard, Dr. Subra offers everything from routine fillings and laser-assisted root canal therapy to clear aligner treatment, veneers, and complete smile makeovers. She is certified by the American Academy of Clear Aligners and brings an eye for aesthetics to every case. No matter the treatment, Dr. Subra takes time to listen, explain options clearly, and ensure each patient feels valued and understood.
Her goal? For every patient to walk out smiling—and truly loving the way they feel.
